The Graduate Student Poster Contest will take place at AISTech on Monday, 16 May 2016 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pa. USA.
– All graduate students who have completed a project or paper may register to participate in this contest. The topic of the poster should be related to the iron and steel industry, properties or applications. To be considered, you must hang your poster in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Plan to hang your poster on the board designated with your name and poster title (push pins will be provided). The poster must be hung by 8:30 a.m. on Monday, 16 May 2016 and removed no sooner than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 17 May. Posters not removed by end of day on Wednesday, 18 May 2016 will be discarded. Authors are not to be present during judging from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Oral presentation of the research is not a criteria for judging. Each author may use up to a 45” x 45” space. Graphics should be simple, colorful, well labeled and clear. The title should be written in letters 2 to 5 cm. high, and should be readable from a distance of 2 m. Posters will be judged on technical content and the quality of the presentation (clarity and aesthetics). All students who enter the contest will be emailed their poster scores following the conference.
– The top scores will receive cash prizes, $1,500 for first place, $1,000 for second place, and $500 for third place. Winners will be announced during the Steel to Students Reception, taking place at 6:00 pm on Monday, 16 May 2016 at the conference.
Students interested in participating in this contest must submit this application by 15 March.
