Tapestries of Resilience: Securing Our Island Communities University of Guam March 6-7, 2025
To celebrate the resilience and innovation at work within the island and the region, the theme of this year’s conference is Tapestries of Resilience: Securing Our Island Communities. The CLASS Annual Research Conference is a multidisciplinary research conference platform for local, regional, and global scholars, scientists, visual and theatrical artists, community experts, and students to share their research and experiences. This year's theme, Tapestries of Resilience: Securing Our Island Communities, highlights the intricate ways our island communities weave together our approaches to security in comprehensive and multifaceted ways. Each thread in our tapestries represents our unique response to food security, climate change, delicate ecosystems, affordable housing, economic inequality, health, military security, culture and identity, education, and more. This theme emphasizes the ways in which our tapestries are woven together to create resilient communitiies for our fast-changing world.
Academics, artists, activists, and students engaged in scholarly and creative work in all disciplines are invited to submit abstracts of their work relating to the conference theme. Presentations of papers, posters, exhibits, panels, forums, workshops, and performances are all welcome. The deadline to submit is December 20, 2024.
Presentations of all types are limited to:
20 minutes for presentation 5 minutes for discussion An abstract of no more than 150 words Real-time presentations only (not prerecorded)
