[Q88-C87] 10. Here's WHEN dry eye affects me most, in terms of seasonsĀ (scale of 0 to 10) Seasonal allergies are a really big deal in dry eye, both directly (ocular allergy, which mimics dry eye) and indirectly (systemic and topical antihistamines are so drying!). Then there's heat in winter, and air conditioning in summer, which dry the heck out of our lives and, incidentally, push a lot of air around that makes our tears evaporate faster. (Add ceiling fans to that... ugh.) And obviously, your climate and environment are going to play big roles in which season(s) are better or worse for you. A common mistake is to interpret a good summer as "the new normal" when in fact... it's just a new normal summer, while the normal fall will involve heat and drier air. There's a lot to unpack here if you think about it.
